Who We Are

We are the Group of Imaging Geodesy and Geohazards (Go-IMAGE), affiliated with the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University (China).

We are dedicated to the development of advanced remote sensing methods and techniques, particularly SAR remote sensing, simulation and inversion of geophysical process parameters, as well as the production of ground equipment and remote sensing products (such as ground deformation). Our aim is to reliably quantify morphological changes on different temporal and spatial scales of the Earth’s surface, enhance the understanding of the related physical processes, and clarify the factors and mechanisms shaping the Earth’s surface changes.

Our research achievements include scientific papers, software, patents, and consultation reports, which can provide scientific advice for regional geological disaster prevention and control, environmental change assessment, and government decision-making.

The formulation of a problem is often more essential than its solution, which may be merely a matter of mathematical or experimental skill. To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle requires creative imagination and marks real advances in science.

提出一个问题往往比解决一个问题更重要,因为解决问题也许仅能是一个数学上或实验室上的技能而已。而从新的角度去看旧的问题,都需要有创造性的想象力,而且标志着科学的真正进步。”
